State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce was asked about US plans in Yemen moving forwards, and about the State Department's diplomatic efforts in the region.

00:00meeting coming up but I'll have that to you. And was it Yemen? Yes. Obviously the U.S. has been

00:06engaged in a military campaign over there for the past several weeks. Is the State Department

00:11leading any diplomatic path to get to whatever end result it is that the U.S. wants? And we've

00:18seen reports that the U.S. is now looking at potentially supporting ground invasion in Yemen

00:24supporting factions inside Yemen which had no momentum after the military. Well I won't speak

00:31on any negotiations that may or may not be happening or diplomatic considerations. I think

00:38many people have seen reports regarding actions that may or may not be happening on the ground

00:42in Yemen as the Houthis' ability to resist is degraded. That's not something I can remark

00:50on. Of course though, when we think about the nexus of the nature of what's happening

00:55in the Middle East, the United States has made its point clear as the Secretary, through the

01:00Secretary and through the President, through ceasefire work and the nonstop efforts regarding

01:05the issues in Israel and on the Gaza Strip. And certainly now in the remarkable fact that

01:12Iran is at the table regarding their condition, which has also been affected of course by the

01:18degrading of Hezbollah, certainly the disaster that Hamas has brought that region, including

01:24Iran. So when we think about the ceasefire and making people's lives better, it certainly

01:30affects the entire region. And I think that's what we can all count on. Yes, ma'am.
