00:36and literally and literally you never told us that you were gonna do a thing with crocs or there was
00:42like a croc thing he couldn't announce he probably couldn't say anything you could announce it but i
00:46was like what other information is he holding out on us i want to know all the info you must have
00:50known i did well maybe it was like a meant like use you know how do you believe it yeah yeah yeah

01:09was that weird did you feel like it was weird in that moment i've been wanting to buy a pair of crocs for
01:13a while and like well i love crocs i do love crocs after seeing me no i like i've loved loved crocs
01:18since well since luke holmes did crocs so he sent us crocs and then it was my gateway to crocs
01:25it's funny it's funny it's funny that you you've now made it up to saying for uh crocs 14 times in
01:34this interview as well i'm glad it's a nice tradition you know um another thing too that
01:40that you held out was that you were playing the thanksgiving halftime show at the detroit lions game
01:46oh that was before that but we didn't ask you that you are would be a great witness to a crime
01:52like or to like if you were like trying to like hide something because i was like we need to ask
01:57him specific questions about something but what was that i mean you're not getting caught up in
02:02anything yet i'm telling you i don't even know i don't yeah maybe i kept that to myself too i'm pretty

02:10from us now that we would like to know that we could help promote or like maybe can you where's

02:23it's funny because there is another thing that i probably could say and i you're gonna be you're

02:43week it's something even bigger and bigger than the last thing you know the fact that we played
02:47detroit halftime and then we played you know beyond you know beyond say yeah christmas and
02:53congratulations by the way on that yeah it just keeps getting bigger and better so it's like you
02:57know we could have talked about halftime that makes sense because you injured yourself on the
03:01lion's field and you're like in pain and still played a show you did we did talk about that i
03:07was like remember i was yeah you were and you still played the show is that the most pain you've
03:11ever been in and it wasn't that bad i definitely tweaked my i think i put my hamstring that day
03:16crazy yeah the rest of the tour i was definitely limping dragging that club foot along so it was a
03:23great show still yeah it was such an epic thing to play i mean millions of people
03:27watching at home yeah um you also mentioned the beyonce album so many great writers on that
03:32and it won a grammy yeah do you get a trophy for that you get something i think i get like a paper
03:37or something like that piece of paper you put in a plaque but yeah you put it you frame it up and
03:42you know it looks you know i've seen one recently and it looks like the real thing it's just as good
03:47so that is that is i wonder why i'm getting my getting my pieces of paper that is you're like
03:51where's where's my certificate can we talk about good news we want to know the story behind that
03:57song where were you what were you thinking and what were you drinking when that song came to be
04:00um you know i think i think obviously you know with with all the success from a bar song um i was just
04:07in this place where i felt like i finally had the opportunity you know budget wise and and just like
04:13the support of the label and the team to be able to make whatever i kind of wanted i felt like up until
04:18that point you know we made a bar song in a in a in a bedroom you know i mean like the whole song so
04:22it's like you know it's kind of like we were we were kind of the guys who were being pretty mindful
04:27of how much we spent on records so it was interesting to just be like man what am i what
04:31can i follow up with so i felt like a lot of people around the industry were you know sending songs and
04:37sending different cuts and things they wanted me to cut and i was you know i wasn't i wasn't feeling
04:41a lot of it i felt a lot of it obviously kind of wanted to follow like oh he did a bar song so we
04:45should give them they wanted a lot of lines with jack there yeah a lot of lines getting tipsy and
04:52pouring adult shots i was like no this is this isn't it and one song came across you know came
04:56came to me and uh you know i think i told the producer producers like man i want something that's
05:00really like real you know i mean something real something that feels stripped back and you could
05:05just kind of like sing about some things that i think are going to connect to people in a way
05:09that's not just 100 party yeah 100 percent uh you know um a writer i'm a huge fan of you know
05:17sent that song and i heard that i was like oh this is the song i want to cut after like a hundred
05:21songs i was like this is this is the song and cut it and you know and uh yeah kind of you know
05:27everybody we love it yes good news is good yeah it's good news that you're here we appreciate
