In a bizarre twist from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a mother-in-law and her son-in-law from the Nepal border in Bihar — 10 days after they absconded together, just before the daughter’s wedding.
The woman, who was supposed to oversee her daughter’s marriage scheduled for April 16, instead fled with her daughter’s fiancé. When questioned by police, she reportedly said, “I want to go with him. My husband used to beat me and never gave money for expenses.”
The sensational case has stunned the local community, especially since the daughter’s wedding was to be held today. The duo had been missing for over a week before being tracked down and detained.
