00:00Syed Ahmad Syed Abdulrahman Al-Haddad, better known as the rapper Ultimate, will take on Selangor Assembly Deputy Speaker Kamri Kamaruddin in a closely watched contest for the Umbang PKR Division Chiefs Post.
00:14Kamri, a seasoned PKR leader, confirmed his intention to rejoin the race after stepping aside in the 2022 party election to allow Ultimate to lead the Umbang Division.
00:23He said there's a need for him to return and lead the division again, as he feels the grassroots members support and trust him to take on the role.
00:33Syed Ahmad, who's completing his first term as Umbang PKR Chief, welcomed the challenge from Kamri and Azrael Azwar Ahmad Tajuddin, describing the three-cornered contest as part of a healthy democratic process within the party.
00:44He said it's only fair for him to defend the post, having led PKR's successful bid to regain the Umbang, Bukit Antarabangsa, and Lomba Jaya seats lost to defections in 2020.
00:56The Lomba Jaya Assemblyman said his focus remained on the division-level contest for now, although he hoped to contribute at the national level too.
