Mother charged in bedside hearing of attacking her three children

A mother has faced a bedside hearing charged with attacking her three children after an alleged stabbing incident as the children slept in their family home in Sydney ‘s north-west. The mother, who was also found with stab wounds, was taken to hospital long with the three children, aged 16, 13 and 10, where they remain in a stable condition.

00:07three counts of grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

00:11Emergency services were called to her Balkan Hills home in Sydney's North West around 5am

00:17on Monday to find three children aged 10, 13 and 16 with stab wounds.

00:24The woman also allegedly stabbed herself.

00:27Police said the father heard the children's screams in the early morning and intervened

00:32before disarming his wife and calling triple zero.

00:35A kitchen knife was seized from the home and is being examined.

00:39The children were taken to Westmead Children's Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

00:45The mother is yet to be interviewed by police and detectives are still investigating the

00:49intent behind the stabbings.

00:51The woman's solicitor did not apply for bail.

00:54The matter will next be heard in court in May.
