00:27Filipino youth have the strongest voice on social media.

00:33As Rizal said, the youth are the hope of the country.

00:38You are the generation that has access to the most information.

00:43And because of this, you also have the biggest responsibility

00:47to ensure that the truth will prevail.

00:51This is the message of PIA Director General Catherine De Castro

00:55to more than 500 youth who attended the West Philippine Sea Symposium in Calamba City, Laguna, Camacailan.

01:01De Castro emphasized that the role of youth in social media is important

01:06and they should ensure that the truth prevails and not fake news.

01:11Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard and the National Youth Commission

01:15encouraged the youth to fight against the spread of disinformation and misinformation related to the West Philippine Sea.

01:23As part of the symposium, the PIA launched the campaign

01:27Maging Mapanuri Media and Information Literacy

01:31which teaches the youth to be responsible in using social media.

01:36The Philippine Information Agency will continue to provide information to Filipino youth

01:42to be able to watch and be responsible online

01:45and support the government in advancing transparency on important issues, especially in the West Philippine Sea.
