00:00The Association of Women Surgeons of the Philippines and the College of Surgeons

00:04held a Breast Screening and Lay Forum for the employees of People's Television Network.

00:10This is the celebration of Women's Month.

00:12Some of the activities are nationwide simultaneous breast cancer awareness lectures and free clinics.

00:21This also gives importance to early prevention of breast cancer,

00:25especially in the leading cause of death of women.

00:28This is also the largest number of breast cancer detection every year.

00:32It is recommended that women should do a self-examination

00:36every 20 years after their monthly period.

00:41If they still have abnormalities,

00:45they should go to the doctor for findings and make an appropriate prescription for medication.

00:52While women above 40 years old should get a mammogram once a year.

00:58Do you have symptoms or not?

01:04In the whole Philippines, we would like to encourage everyone to examine their breasts every month

01:11and to consult a doctor if you still have abnormal symptoms in your breasts.

01:19This is important because breast cancer can be treated if we can detect it early.
