00:00The new Sugarcane Processing Development Center

00:02is speeding up and increasing the income of the sugarcane producers in Marcos, Ilocos Norte.

00:08This is Rani Dorilag of Radyo Pilipinas Lawag for Balitang Pambansa.

00:15In the past, the production of sugarcane required a lot of labor and wood

00:18in order to be able to run the production line.

00:21Now, the production of sugarcane is faster and cleaner

00:25by the Nawada Mabuti Farmers Association

00:27here in Marcos, Ilocos Norte.

00:30The Shared Service Facility for Sugarcane Processing Development Center

00:34of the Department of Trade and Industry and LGO Marcos has been built already.

00:38We are thankful to DTI for helping us

00:43to improve the machinery

00:47so that the production of sugarcane is faster.

00:51Aside from that, more and more people are getting interested in sugarcane

00:55because of DTI's help.

00:57And because Muscovado is also one of the potential earners of sugarcane in Otobo,

01:02they are asking the government to conduct a training

01:05for the proper processing of sugarcane.

01:06If DTI agrees, they will continue to work hard

01:09so that our countrymen will be freed

01:11in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

01:15The DTI is continually developing

01:18or looking for other industries

01:22that we can develop here in Marcos.

01:24That's what we are looking for in coordination with the municipal government of Marcos.

01:29Currently, the cooperative is planning to get a certification from the Food and Drug Administration

01:35so that they can sell to the big grocery and malls in the future.
