A public university professor pleaded not guilty at the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Monday (March 24) to two counts of accepting bribes, amounting to RM5,071.

00:12Forty-eight-year-old Ahmad Rifqi Madzain is accused of abusing his position as the principal
00:18of a university residential college to receive bribes of 2,000 ringgit and 3,071 ringgit
00:25on May 24 and June 2, 2023.
00:30Rifqi is charged with accepting bribes as an inducement to assist Light Green Enterprise
00:35in securing a contract to supply and deliver collared T-shirts, lanyards, mufflers and
00:41Ziploc bags for residential college students during the 2023-2024 session.
00:48The charges were framed under Section 17, Subsection A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption
00:53Commission Act, 2009.
00:56Judge Datuk Mohamad Nasir Nordin granted bail at 10,000 ringgit and ordered Rifqi to surrender
01:03his passport, report to the MACC monthly and avoid contact with prosecution witnesses.
