The Court of Appeal has reinstated the criminal case against former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after his four charges of power abuse involving RM232.5mil were previously struck down by the High Court. 00:19 You have just heard the decision of the Court of Appeal.

00:23 The Court allowed the appeal by the prosecution.

00:26 We are obviously disappointed with the decision of the Court of Appeal,

00:31 but we respect the decision of the Court of Appeal.

00:34 Now the basic issue in this case is whether Besato, the political party,

00:40 is an associate under the SPRN Act.

00:43 We contended it's not.

00:46 The prosecution contended otherwise.

00:49 The prosecution relied on meanings defined by the dictionaries,

00:53 whereas we relied on statute words found in the SPRN Act.

00:59 The Court was persuaded to take the approach of the prosecution.

01:04 We are obviously disappointed by the approach taken by the Court of Appeal.

01:09 As I said earlier, we respect the approach taken.

01:13 We will meet and discuss as to the next course of action we will take.

01:19 In the meantime, the Court has ordered that we appear before the Sessions Court on 4 March.
