00:00The elderly man who allegedly slapped a non-Muslim for eating in public during Ramadan has been

00:11questioned by police.

00:13Johor Police Chief M. Kumar said a statement was taken yesterday from the man as well as

00:18from his son and several other witnesses to help complete the investigation.

00:24The victim posted a video of the incident on social media yesterday and confirmed that

00:28he had filed a police report.

00:31He said that the man demanded to see his mic cut and slapped him several times after he

00:35refused to do so.

00:38Kumar said the complaint and statement was recorded and he was sent for a medical examination.

00:44He said the doctor's statement will be taken before the investigation paper is referred

00:48to the deputy public prosecutor by Friday.

00:51The case is being investigated under section 323 of the penal code for voluntarily causing

00:56hurt.
