Happy weekend to all of us. I'm Benison Estareja.
00:05
This Sunday, the North-East Monsoon, or Hanging Amihan, will return here in the extreme northern Luzon.
00:11
It is expected to get stronger in the next few days, possibly reaching a large part of Luzon.
00:16
Meanwhile, this Sunday, the effects of the Easter lease will continue,
00:19
or the hot winds from the east will continue to bring bad weather,
00:24
especially in the afternoon, accompanied by heavy rains or lightning.
00:30
Based on our latest satellite animation, we do not see any low-pressure air or typhoons,
00:35
and we do not expect any weather disturbance for the rest of the week.
00:40
Today in Luzon, the chance of rain is the highest here in Batanes and Baboyan Islands.
00:45
Because of the return of Amihan, these are just light rains.
00:49
Here in some parts of the Bicol region, such as Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon,
00:54
we only expect non-continuous rains, light to moderate rains, and isolated thunderstorms following the Easter lease.
01:02
In the remaining part of Luzon, we still expect almost the same weather conditions as yesterday.
01:06
Parts will be cloudy, and most of the time, it will be sunny in the morning until the afternoon,
01:10
and then when it reaches the afternoon until the evening, parts will be cloudy,
01:13
and sometimes, the sky will be cloudy, accompanied by heavy rains or lightning,
01:19
especially in the areas of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Region, Aurora, and Quezon Province.
01:25
The temperature in Metro Manila is still warm, from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius,
01:31
in Tukigaraw, it is up to 33 degrees, and Isabela.
01:34
While in Baguio City, it will remain cold from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:40
For our countrymen here in Palawan, we still expect fair weather conditions,
01:44
that is, parts will be cloudy, and sometimes, the sky will still be sunny,
01:48
and there are areas where it will not rain, if there is any, only short rain showers.
01:53
While in Visayas, the chance of rain is the highest because of the Easter lease,
01:58
in the Northern Sama, while in the remaining part of Visayas,
02:03
and it will be accompanied by sometimes, dark weather, and heavy rains,
02:07
lasting for one to two hours.
02:10
Our temperature in a large part of Palawan and Visayas,
02:14
may rise to 33 degrees when the afternoon arrives.
02:18
And for our countrymen in Mindanao,
02:20
before the afternoon arrives, the chance of rain in the southern portion,
02:23
including Bangsamoro Region, Soksabjen, Davao Region, and the southern part of Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:30
so make sure to bring an umbrella when you go out of your house.
02:33
Then in the remaining part of Mindanao in the morning,
02:35
it will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
02:37
but when the afternoon arrives until the evening,
02:40
the majority of Mindanao will be mostly cloudy skies,
02:43
accompanied by heavy rains lasting for one to two hours because of the Easter lease.
02:49
Our temperature in Metro Davao is up to 33 degrees,
02:52
while the hottest temperature in Zamboanga City is up to 34 degrees Celsius.
02:58
And speaking of Zamboanga City,
03:00
we were able to measure the dangerous levels of heat index yesterday
03:03
in Zamboanga City up to 42 degrees,
03:06
and even hotter, in Bibirak, Catanduanes,
03:08
the heat index reached 43 degrees Celsius.
03:12
This is the heat index that our body is feeling,
03:15
while in Metro Manila, it only reached 36 degrees yesterday,
03:19
the highest heat index.
03:21
It followed by 40 degrees in Cuyo, Palawan,
03:24
Legazpi City, Albay,
03:26
Dumangas, Iloilo,
03:27
Davao City,
03:28
Cotabato City,
03:29
and General Santos City.
03:32
As for our heat index forecast for today,
03:35
for Metro Manila,
03:36
the heat index that we will feel yesterday is almost the same,
03:39
the highest heat index is at 35 to 36 degrees Celsius,
03:43
while the highest is still up to 42 degrees Celsius,
03:47
or the dangerous heat index in Bibirak, Catanduanes,
03:50
and Zamboanga City,
03:52
followed by Cuyo, Palawan,
03:53
and Masbate City,
03:54
up to 41 degrees Celsius.
03:57
Today and tomorrow,
03:58
the Easter list will still be held,
04:00
so make sure that we drink a lot of water,
04:02
wear comfortable clothes,
04:04
and wear thin clothes when going out of the house.
04:07
Make sure that we have protection from the heat,
04:09
such as an umbrella or a hat.
04:12
As for our gale warning,
04:14
the wind is getting stronger,
04:15
so it is expected that there will be gale warnings in many places.
04:19
As for today,
04:20
we only have gale warnings in Batanes,
04:22
where small sea vessels are not allowed to sail.
04:26
But in the next few days,
04:28
gale warnings will still be possible in many seaboards of Luzon,
04:32
so it is also possible to ban our sea vehicles
04:35
in some parts of Ilocos Region,
04:37
Cagayan Valley,
04:38
Aurora, Quezon,
04:39
and even parts of Camarines Provinces.
04:42
Our country is currently sailing from Banayad
04:45
to just above Pagalon,
04:47
and it is also possible to sail up to Pagalon,
04:49
especially to the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.
04:54
As for our four-day weather forecast,
04:57
as we mentioned earlier,
04:59
the wind is getting stronger,
05:00
and by tomorrow,
05:01
it will reach Northern and Central Luzon.
05:04
There will be light rains here in Cagayan Valley,
05:06
Apayao,
05:07
Aurora,
05:08
and some nearby provinces in Ilocos Region,
05:10
and maybe Northern Quezon,
05:12
so make sure that we have an umbrella.
05:14
While the rest of the country is still experiencing a hot easterly breeze,
05:18
make sure that we still have an umbrella,
05:20
not only as a protection against the heat of the weather,
05:23
but also for isolated rains and thunderstorms
05:26
in the afternoon and evening,
05:27
especially in the eastern Visayas,
05:29
large parts of Mindanao,
05:30
and even Bicol, Guichol.
05:33
And when Tuesday and Thursday arrive,
05:36
that's March 18 to 20,
05:38
you can expect a strong north-east monsoon,
05:41
so the heat around us will be reduced.
05:44
Expect light to moderate rains in Cagayan Valley,
05:48
Aurora,
05:49
here in Quezon Province,
05:50
and some parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
05:53
While here in Visayas,
05:56
in the eastern part of Cabicula and Mimaropa,
05:58
there will be a mild and easterly breeze.
06:01
So we will have a heavy shoreline again
06:03
when Tuesday and Thursday arrive,
06:04
and sometimes there will be heavy and continuous rains,
06:07
so be careful of floods and landslides,
06:09
and always talk to our advisories
06:12
or even heavy rainfall warnings.
06:14
Meanwhile, here in Mindanao,
06:16
the easterly breeze will be stronger,
06:18
so you can expect a high chance of rain
06:20
from Tuesday to Thursday,
06:22
especially in Micaraga and Davao Region.
06:24
Also be careful of floods and landslides.
06:27
While here in some parts of Luzon,
06:29
the north-east monsoon is already increasing,
06:32
so we can expect isolated light rains.
06:34
And the good news is,
06:36
the temperature will drop in many areas of our country.
06:40
Our sunrise is 6.03 a.m.,
06:43
and our sunset is 6.07 p.m.
06:45
That was the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
06:49
I am Benison Estareja,
06:51
wishing you a good time,
06:52
hoping for a good solution.
