00:00Let's talk about some of the folks you haven't talked that much about.

00:05Washington also announced the signing.

00:07We've talked a lot about Ken Law.

00:08We've talked a fair amount about Will Harris, I would say.

00:13Anybody remember Eddie Goldman?

00:16Friendship Collegiate Academy?

00:17Remember when that was humming?

00:20I don't know if that's still around, but for a brief period of time, Friendship Collegiate

00:25in D.C. was a straight-up football powerhouse.

00:30Goes to Florida State.

00:32I think it was Eddie Goldman.

00:34I'm trying to remember.

00:35At one point, I remember somebody had this great line about Florida State playing Maryland

00:40and kind of making fun of Maryland, and it was a DMV native, but I don't remember if

00:45it was Goldman.

00:46Second-round pick by the Bears back in 2015.

00:54In the last four seasons, depending on how long you want to go here, B, Goldman started

01:00his NFL career fairly durable.

01:03Missed a bunch of time his second season, but most of the time he was playing.

01:07Just kind of a rotational piece, nose tackle, D tackle on some pretty good Bears defenses.

01:17In 2020, he didn't play, opted out for COVID.

01:21Bears were allowed to opt out, so he opted out.

01:25He played in 21, played 14 games.

01:28He retired in 22.

01:31He was out of the league in 23.

01:34Last year, he was back with the Falcons, played 17 games.

01:39It's not a ton of snaps.

01:43This one's interesting because it's a young man coming back to his hometown.

01:48I don't know what you're getting here.

01:49Well, I think you got to get 90 people, and you don't know when you go into camp, you

01:56need bodies in camp, and also some people, the light bulb goes off, like, I don't be

02:02around here.

02:03I better start doing something different or better.

02:05You never know.

02:07I think that's someone where you say, we're going to go, take this risk, take this risk.

02:11Every once in a while, you sign some risky dudes, but it's not a high risk.

02:17Yeah, imagine the risk involved here is a minimum contract.

02:21Now, it's a veteran minimum, and he's got seven years in the league, so that'll cost

02:26you a little bit, but nothing substantial.

02:30One thing that's interesting, he's listed 6'3", 330.

02:37That's a big boy.

02:40In his Bears days, he was listed as a nose tackle, as like a true nose.

02:48They haven't had that type of player, like a truly kind of space eater dude, maybe Sheldon

02:57Day a little bit, and maybe that's why he ended up helping them last season.

03:06Sheldon Day's a lot skinnier, but I just, I do think it's interesting as we watch these

03:12signings and say what you want about Kinlaw, there's lots of things, right?

03:18But clearly, they're trying to build out what they want now, and I don't want to at all

03:26overhype an Eddie Goldman signing.

03:28This is a specific dude with a specific purpose on a football field.
