Hello from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for Tuesday the 11th of
00:04
March as you look at what we can expect heading into tomorrow Wednesday. First to
00:09
eastern Australia and showers continue to ease across southeast Queensland and
00:13
northeastern New South Wales but there is still the possibility of
00:16
thunderstorms across inland areas. Flooding does continue across some
00:20
rivers so be sure to watch our dedicated severe weather update video and that's
00:24
available now. For the rest of the country and in the southeast this cold
00:27
front will start to move towards the east that's bringing some hot air down
00:31
across Victoria and Tasmania but it is generating some unsettled conditions so
00:35
we can expect to see some pretty widespread showers and storms through
00:38
the day. Also quite unsettled across Western Australia with this cold front
00:42
pushing through with showers and storms across inland parts of the state. For
00:46
central Australia hot conditions continue and across the tropical north
00:49
the usual showers and thunderstorms do persist. So now a state-by-state look
00:54
Starting off in Queensland a few showers will continue about the far southeast of
00:58
the state but showers and storms will be more widespread across southern inland
01:01
and also central parts. They'll extend up into the northwest and central west of
01:06
the state. There is the possibility of severe thunderstorms and they could
01:09
bring areas of heavy rainfall as well as damaging winds. Temperature wise it will
01:14
be returned to more typical conditions for this time of year 28 with a shower
01:18
or two in Brisbane but hot across the west of the state reaching 41 degrees
01:22
in Birdsville. In New South Wales showers for much of the east and the northeast
01:27
of the state. There is a possibility of severe thunderstorms about the far west
01:31
of the state but under that cloud cover and cooler easterly winds temperatures
01:35
will be slightly below average across the northeast of the state but very very
01:39
warm across western parts of New South Wales. Sydney a possible shower with 27
01:43
partly cloudy in Canberra with a top of 29. In Victoria a hot and unsettled day
01:49
is on the way. Showers will develop from the morning about central districts but
01:53
they'll become more widespread for much of the state into the afternoon. There is
01:57
the possibility of damaging winds and also heavy rainfall about central parts
02:00
of the state that includes some of the suburbs around Melbourne 33 degrees
02:04
showers and a possible storm but it will be hot across the north of the state. In
02:09
Tasmania showers and thunderstorms will develop across western parts of the
02:13
state from the morning they'll gradually extend across the rest of the state
02:16
heading into the afternoon. Otherwise it will be quite a mild day temperatures
02:20
generally reaching the low to mid 20s. Hobart a possible shower or storm with
02:24
a top of 24 degrees. In South Australia we will see a few very light showers in
02:29
the morning about the far southeast of the state that will clear away as that
02:33
cold front moves towards the south and we are looking at a mostly sunny day
02:36
across the state with light south to southeasterly winds. Temperatures will be
02:40
warm though 31 degrees in Adelaide with sunny conditions and low intensity heat
02:44
conditions do continue in the north reaching up into the low 40s. For Western
02:48
Australia unsettled in the south due to this trough and also low pressure system
02:53
developing later in the day. We'll see showers and thunderstorms across central
02:57
and southern parts of the state that includes the Goldfields south coast and
03:00
also the interior. Along the west coast you will see some cooler southwesterly
03:04
winds pushing through so milder down the way for Perth a possible shower with 27
03:08
degrees but hot and unsettled across the Pilbara again reaching up into the high
03:12
30s in some locations. Finally across northern Australia typical showers and
03:17
storms do continue across the Top End and also into the Kimberley but across
03:21
the interior heatwave conditions do continue another day reaching the low
03:24
40s across Alice Springs. That's your forecast for today keep up to date with
03:29
the latest information and warnings on our website or app, follow us on social
03:33
