Good day from D.O.S.D. Pagasa. This is our weather update for March 11, 2025.
00:06
At the moment, the main atmospheric system that is affecting our country is easterlies.
00:12
This will bring hot air with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms
00:18
or rainfall, lightning and thunderstorms.
00:22
At the moment, we are not being watched for any bad weather or any typhoon
00:27
inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:30
We expect this in the next few weeks.
00:34
For our forecast for tomorrow, the easterlies will continue to be affected
00:39
and this will bring cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms
00:44
here in Aurora and Quezon Province.
00:47
In the northern part, this is the extreme northern part of our country,
00:52
specifically in Batanes, the northeast monsoon will bring
00:57
rain and cloudy skies.
01:00
We expect that the northeast monsoon will slowly dissipate
01:05
but we expect that this will surge again next week
01:11
and will affect not only the northernmost part of the country
01:15
but also the provinces in our northern Luzon.
01:19
In Metro Manila and the southern part of Luzon,
01:22
we expect that the skies will be clear,
01:26
which means that it will be sunny in the day time or in the morning and noon time
01:31
but there are chances of rain, lightning and thunderstorms,
01:35
especially in the afternoon.
01:36
Why do we always expect this kind of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon?
01:43
This is connected to the water cycle that we call.
01:46
During the morning, our land is exposed to sunlight
01:50
along with the bodies of water that surrounds our country.
01:56
During the day, there is an evaporation.
02:01
The updraft or the movement of winds from the surface,
02:05
from the ground to the atmosphere,
02:07
contributes to cloud formation.
02:13
These cloud formations occur locally
02:16
where the updraft is higher.
02:22
If that is enough to have a condensation process
02:26
or to have thunderstorms that will bring rain,
02:30
eventually, this will bring precipitation or rain,
02:35
especially in the afternoon and at night.
02:39
The average temperature in Metro Manila is from 24 to 33,
02:43
in Baguio, it is 17 to 25,
02:46
in Lawag, it is 24 to 34,
02:48
in Tagaytay, 22 to 32,
02:50
in Tuguegarao, 23 to 33
02:52
and in Legazpi, 25 to 31.
02:55
In Palawan, we also expect clear skies
02:59
where there are chances of rain and thunderstorms,
03:03
especially in the afternoon.
03:04
The average temperature in Puerto Princesa is 27 to 32
03:08
and in Kalayaan Island, it is also 27 to 32.
03:13
In the rest of the country,
03:15
specifically in Visayas and Mindanao,
03:17
we continue to expect clear skies
03:20
where there are chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
03:24
This can be observed in Visayas and Mindanao
03:28
and the average temperature in Cebu is 26 to 32,
03:32
as well as in Iloilo.
03:34
In Tacloban, it is 25 to 32,
03:37
in Cagayan de Oro, it is 24 to 31,
03:39
in Davao, it is 25 to 33
03:41
and in Sambuanga, it is 24 to 34.
03:44
At the moment, we do not have a gale warning.
03:48
Our fellow Filipinos who are fishermen and seafarers
03:54
in any part of our country
03:57
can be safe.
03:58
Let us be careful here in the eastern part
04:01
because our waves are moderate to strong.
04:04
In the three-day weather outlook,
04:06
in the neighboring areas of our country,
04:10
from March 13 to 15,
04:12
Thursday to Saturday,
04:14
in Metro Manila to Legazpi,
04:16
we expect clear skies
04:18
where there are chances of rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:22
They differ in temperature
04:24
because in Baguio,
04:26
the expected temperature is lower
04:28
due to its elevation.
04:30
In higher areas,
04:32
the temperature they experience is relatively lower.
04:37
In Metro Cebu,
04:38
in Iloilo City and Tacloban City,
04:41
we will continue to experience the influence of the easterlies.
04:45
That is why we expect clear skies
04:49
where there are chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
04:55
This will continue until Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Sambuanga.
05:01
Aside from this,
05:03
we expect that there will be a surge in the northeast monsoon
05:09
and we expect this next week.
05:11
The termination of our forecast
05:14
will not be released yet.
05:17
We need to follow the criteria that we have in our forecast
05:22
to be able to mention this.
05:24
Specifically,
05:26
we may terminate in the third week of March.
05:31
Our sun will set later at 6.06pm
05:34
and will rise again tomorrow at 6.06am.
05:38
For additional information,
05:40
including the Heat Index,
05:42
our forecast for the next two days
05:44
and the Observed Heat Index
05:46
in the areas where there are chances of rain showers and thunderstorms,
05:49
we can visit our website at pagasa.tost.gov.ph.
