00:00Good afternoon, this is the last update on the weather this Thursday, January 2, 2025.

00:08The Northeast Monsoon or AMIHAN in the extreme northern Luzon is the first to be affected.

00:14So we expect in Batanes, it will be cloudy and rainy because of the AMIHAN or Northeast Monsoon.

00:22Meanwhile, the Sheer Line is affected in the extreme northern Luzon and central Luzon.

00:30The Sheer Line is the combination of cold wind from the Northeast and hot wind from the East.

00:37The Sheer Line is also the one that brings cloudy and rainy weather and isolated thunderstorms

00:44like Isabela, Apayao and Aurora.

00:49Meanwhile, the Easterlies or the hot wind from the Pacific Ocean brings cloudy and rainy weather,

00:57thunderstorms and landslides in the Eastern Visayas, Quezon and Bicol Region.

01:04For the time being, in Metro Manila and other parts of our province,

01:09we expect cloudy and rainy weather, thunderstorms and landslides.

01:16Also, be careful of the recent rains due to landslides.

01:23At the moment, we don't have a monitor of low-pressure area or typhoon

01:27inside or near our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

01:31For the time being, we expect the Sheer Line to bring rain in the eastern part of the northern Luzon.

01:41For the Northeast Monsun or Hanging Amihan,

01:44it will bring rain in the extreme northern Luzon,

01:47Cordillera Administrative Region and some parts of Ilocos Region

01:54where we also expect heavy rains, landslides and landslides in Calayaan Islands and Palawan.

02:02For the time being, in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon,

02:06we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of localized thunderstorms.

03:18are possible in Isabela and Cagayan.

03:22If the rainfall is 50 to 100 mm,

03:24localized flooding is possible in urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers.

03:30Landslides are also possible in highly susceptible areas.

03:35Tomorrow, we expect moderate to heavy rains in Cagayan and Isabela,

03:40as well as in Apayao.

03:43And from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon,

03:46we expect heavy to intense rains in Cagayan and Isabela.

03:52If heavy to intense, numerous flooding events are likely,

03:56especially in urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers.

04:00Landslides are likely in moderate to highly susceptible areas.

04:04While moderate to heavy rains are likely in Apayao, Calinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.

04:15when it rains because the land is saturated,

04:18and it is possible for flash floods or landslides to occur.

04:22We still do not have a high-level gale warning in any sea or country in our country.

04:36we expect that in Metro Manila and Legazpi,

04:39Saturday to Monday, the fair weather conditions will continue,

04:51but by Sunday and Monday,

04:58The water temperature in Metro Manila is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.

05:07and 24 to 31 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.

05:12For the main cities in Visayas,

05:15Metro Cebu and Iloilo City,

05:17the next three days, Saturday to Monday,

05:19there will be fair weather conditions and chances of localized thunderstorms.

05:23But in Tacloban,

05:25we expect that it will rain on Saturday,

05:28but by Sunday and Monday,

05:30the weather in that area will improve.

05:34The highest temperature in Metro Cebu

05:36is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.

05:40In Iloilo City,

05:41the water temperature is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,

05:44and 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Tacloban City.

05:49For the main cities in Mindanao,

05:51we expect that in Metro Davao,

05:53on Saturday and Sunday,

05:55there will still be heavy rain,

05:58but by Monday,

06:02the weather in Metro Davao will improve.

06:05In Cagayan de Oro City and Zamboanga City,
