Giant Easter egg hunt to take over London

Prizes will be on offer and it’s all for charity.

00:00London is set to be taken over by over 100 giant decorated eggs for the big egg hunt in 2025 in the capital.

00:11The trail will span iconic locations such as Battersea Power Station,

00:16Covent Garden, Chelsea, Marylebone, Marble Arch, Canary Wharf, Buckingham Palace,

00:22the Barbican and the Saatchi Gallery as well.

00:27These two-foot tall sculptures will be scattered across the city and the public can collect the eggs they find

00:33taking them off on a free app that also reveals prizes along the way.

00:39The exhibition has been organised by wildlife charity Elephant Family and egg producer Clarence Court

00:46brings together art, fashion and food in a unique celebration of creativity and conservation.

00:54Elephant Family has called it a vibrant experience for everyone to enjoy.

01:00So would Londoners go on this Easter egg hunt and where in London would they hide the egg in the city?

01:08I think anything that brings community together is good.

01:10I think if they're hiding them in places that are across different types of areas,

01:13so suburban areas as well as the city, then yes.

01:15I think if it's going to be stuck in sort of one area, so central London,

01:18where people maybe don't travel up into there, especially with children, perhaps not so much.

01:22So I think if we're really thinking heavy about, you know, what kind of community building are we trying to do here?

01:26How much of London is being included? Greater London as well as central London?

01:29Yeah, I think it's a good thing.

01:30I mean, I'd like to see more community driven things. I'm not sure if that's a great example.

01:34Easter is a time particularly important to Christians, but not everyone in London is a Christian.

01:40So I'm not sure if that's appropriate, really.

01:43If you could hide the egg anywhere in London, where do you think would be quite a cool, fun hiding place?

01:48Where would you do it and why?

01:49There's an area in Chancery Lane where it's like near where some of the inns are.

01:53There's like little alcove cubbies that people don't really know that much about.

01:56So I think if we hid them somewhere there, it'd be quite nice, not just for people to find it,

02:00but also for people to realise actually there's little hidden gems in London they may not know about already.

02:03So I think that's quite cool.

02:04It would probably be on that little beach that appears on the South Bank, just in front of that pizza place.

02:09And why there? Because it's like, it will be a time specific quest, because it only appears at like half.

02:15You can like make a quest around, you can only appear at a certain time on the banks of the Thames

02:19and you can put a little Shakespearean twist to it as well.

02:22So the parks really, because I love the parks and they've got great parks in London.

02:26I think Greenwich again is a lovely area for that.

02:31There are so many places, probably somewhere near the canals.

02:37I don't know where exactly, somewhere maybe near the Regent's Canal, just because it's a nice area.

02:44When the exhibition ends, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Asian Wildlife for Conservation
