00:00Business and tourism in the town of Carles, Iloilo is eagerly waiting for the government's electrification project to be completed.

00:07That's what House Speaker Martin Romualde said in the groundbreaking ceremony of the project.

00:19The government started the Rural Electrification Project for the residents of Carles, Iloilo,

00:26with great enthusiasm.

00:30It's not difficult if there's no electricity, no power, because we can use the appliances that we want to use.

00:40Thank you very much.

00:42Aside from being able to use the appliances, the residents of San Fernando, Cogon Island will also save a lot

00:50because they no longer need to buy gasoline for the generator.

00:55This is the government's goal, which is why the P388 million fund was allocated for the Estancia Manlot-Calagnaan-Cogon Island

01:04Submarine Cable Interconnection Project, which was taken from the budget of the local government

01:09and the National Electrification Administration.

01:12And because this is the government's single biggest Rural Electrification Project,

01:17many islands will be connected to the Mainland Distribution Grid,

01:21where more than 13,000 households will benefit from this.

01:25House Speaker Martin Romualde gave the opportunity to complete the project for the residents and the entire town of Carles.

01:34In the future, there will be a new initiative in tourism and business.

01:41Students who are having a hard time studying will have access to modern technology.

01:50This is the truth. The money of the town should go back to the town.

01:56It is expected that the electrification project in Carles will be completed before 2025.
