00:29through the creations of the artists Allel Assal and Abdelhak Demi.

00:33Organized until April 3, this exhibition presents two distinct and complementary artistic universes

00:39towards one side, delicate drawings made with ink from China by the artist-drawer Allel Assal

00:45and sculptures meticulously shaped in the wood floated by the sculptor Abdelhak Demi.

00:55the minimalist drawings of Allel Assal invite a journey of exploration and interpretation

01:17The artist-drawer from Rabat chose the voice of the reclusive artist,

01:39but the execution of which is very complicated, very difficult.

02:50For his part, Abdelhak Koddami, passionate about the sea and its treasures,

02:54sublimates the floating wood, material shaped by currents and time,

02:58in sculptures full of life and emotion,

03:00inspired by its organic forms and its natural energy,

03:03thus celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the poetry of simple things.

03:08Abdelhak Koddami, native of the region of Wazen,

03:11has always had an interest in art and sculpture,

03:14often inspired by the organic forms of nature.

03:18His first works consisted of assemblages of shells,

03:22pebbles and pieces of wood.

03:24His adventure with wood began with the creation of functional and decorative works of art,

03:29before moving towards a pure plastic expression.

03:32Beyond his artistic work, Abdelhak Koddami is part of an ecological and sustainable approach.

03:38By recycling floating wood, he values a material often perceived as useless,

03:43transforming its natural waste into meaningful works of art.

03:52Why do I work with floating wood?

03:54Because this is where I pick up the floating wood.

03:58I work on the Mediterranean, this is where I pick it up.

04:03The name floating wood implies that it has spent a long time in the sea.

04:10It is wood that has been thrown by the sea and picked up,

04:14to work on the sculptures that you see right now.

04:18The work of picking up is a bit difficult,

04:23because I travel miles and miles with a backpack to pick up floating wood.

04:29You have to walk 4-5 hours with a backpack.

04:33Then I go back to the workshop to start cleaning the floating wood,

04:40dusting it, and then moving on to the creativity.

04:46I work a lot on animal sculptures.
