00:00Transnational Stories is an event that offers a visual arts, literature and cinema exhibition.

00:24The objective is to highlight the creations of Belgian-Moroccan or Moroccan artists,

00:29having made a passage in Belgium in different artistic disciplines,

00:38which characterizes the new generation of artists.

00:41Several cultural events commemorating the 60th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral agreement

00:48between Morocco and Belgium will be held in Tangier and Oujda during the months of October and November

00:55at the initiative of the Centre Nomade des Arts Moussem, based in Brussels.

01:07This kind of event contributes to this mutual discovery,

01:11a discovery of these artists, of this creativity of the Moroccans of the world by the Moroccan public opinion,

01:19but also the discovery of Morocco by these artists.

01:29Morocco has been the guest of honor in recent years of the Salon du Livre in Geneva,

01:38in Paris, in Brussels, in Belgium.

01:54each year the Council of the Moroccan Community 3G invites dozens and dozens of novelists and artists.

02:19Driss Liazami participated in the varnishing of the exhibition at the Galerie Mohamed Drissi in Tangier,

02:29who reside or have benefited from an artistic residence in Moussem.

02:33These are Younes Baba Ali, Khadija El-Bied, Hanal Farisi, Abadr El-Hammany,

02:39Nabila Halim, Hamza Helloubi, Nabil Hemmich, Randa Maroufi and Mustafa Seyfi Rahmouni.

02:45They have in common to travel between the two kingdoms, Morocco and Belgium,

02:50taking inspiration from realities and news from one another,

02:53mixing different artistic expressions.

03:06Moussem Belgique tries to shed light on our forgotten aspect of immigration,

03:13namely the cultural and artistic aspect.

03:16It is through the cultural and artistic aspect that we want to spread this 60-year-old story

03:23and to metamorphose the changes that have taken place within the Moroccan community.

03:27A Moroccan community that was originally a working class community,

03:31but that has transformed over the last 60 years.

03:35Today we have Moroccans, politicians, parliamentarians, artists, university professors,

03:43but we also have writers, visual artists.

03:49It is through these creations that we have chosen to focus on three disciplines.

04:00Moussem Belgique includes a series of events in Tangier

04:04that will continue until 25 October and in Oujda from 1 to 30 November.

04:09Two publications are scheduled with the support of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad,

04:15which highlights the evolution of Moroccans of transnational origin

04:20through the prism of art and culture.

04:22Moussem Belgique Transnational Stories is organized with the support

04:26of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad,

04:29the Flemish Government and the Flemish Community Commission,

04:32the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication,

04:36as well as the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

04:39African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad.

04:46We gathered these artists to exhibit them here,

04:53to start at the Mohamed Rissi Gallery in Tangier in October,

04:59and then we will go to Oujda.

05:01It is also important to say why we chose Tangier and Oujda,

05:05because they are two regions in which the majority of Belgian Moroccans are native.

05:13We could have done it in Marrakech and Rabat,

05:16where there is a very artistic dynamic,

05:19two cities that are known for this dynamic,

05:22Casablanca too,

05:24but I think it is also important to return to the origin of this community,

05:31which is the region of the North and the region of the East.

05:35Let's go now to Saudi Arabia to talk about the new Timlam Bordless Digital Arts Centre,

05:42which opened its doors in the historic district of Jeddah,

05:45a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

05:49The new 10,000 m2 space,

05:51created as part of a collaboration between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Timlam,

05:55the international art collective founded in Tokyo in 2001.

05:59It is the eponymous first place in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East

06:03and the seventh permanent space in the world,

06:06after Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Macau, Osaka and Shenzhen.
