00:11Drone footage released by the Botswana police on Saturday shows vast areas submerged, with
00:16entire neighborhoods and roads underwater.
00:19Authorities have temporarily shut schools and blocked roads following more than a week
00:23of downpours.
00:25Over 1,700 people have been evacuated from flood-stricken areas as the government races
00:31to assist affected communities.
00:34Disaster management officials said that inadequate drainage in urban areas may have contributed
00:39to water building up in some of the worst-hit low-lying areas.
00:43Evacuations and relief efforts are ongoing as officials continue to assess the damage
00:47and support displaced residents.
