00:00So I'm here with the President of the Surfing Museum which has just been approved by councillors
00:06and Alan, can you tell me how you're feeling?
00:09I'm feeling extremely happy and thankful to the support that we were able to attain from
00:14the councillors today.
00:16And what do you think this will mean for the community as a whole to have a surfing museum
00:20right here in Fort Macquarie?
00:21It's going to be a great asset for the community, not just as a surfing museum but it's going
00:25to be a community orientated facility which will accommodate needs from a number of the
00:32community groups around the area and our development is going to include quite a lot of open space
00:37and landscaping.
00:38We're going to have a linkage into the Maritime Museum to open up that whole precinct there.
00:43So I feel that both the Maritime Museum, the art society and ourselves is going to be a
00:49great asset to the whole town.
00:53In discussion in the meeting there was wide support that was mentioned in terms of the
00:58petition.
00:59Are you really grateful and thankful that so many groups and individuals have come on
01:02to support the motion?
01:03I'm extremely grateful and thankful for all those within the community who signed our
01:07support and it has given us a lot of moral support, not just over the last few weeks
01:12but we've been going now for three or four years in regards to this particular site so
01:17I do thank everyone in the community for all the great support they've given us.
