Garden Village resident Hazel Durrant and Heritage Christian School student Pearl Hanson-Crickmore speak about the benefits of the Virtual Voyagers program.
Transcript
00:00So can you tell me why this program has been so beneficial?
00:04It's been so beneficial because, as I say, I miss my grandchildren down in Melbourne
00:10and to have someone actually here that I can have a rapport with
00:15and we both think along the same lines, you know.
00:19I've learnt quite a bit about Pearl and hopefully she's learnt a little bit about me.
00:25I have, yes.
00:26On my stupid ways.
00:28But no, it's been the program itself.
00:32I think more of this should be done because it's been really beneficial for all of us in there.
00:38Yeah, yeah, 100%.
00:40Yeah, taking off what you said about your grandkids,
00:44my grandparents live in England so I don't really have that connection
00:49but doing the virtual voyages has really helped me connect with that generation
00:54and I think that's really beneficial as well for kids my age.
00:58With learning, because being a teenager is all about learning.
01:03Being with, you know, the older generation is definitely beneficial for that learning aspect.
