00:00The National Maritime Council condemned China's helicopter landing in the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources' airplane in Scarborough Shoal.
00:08This is what Ryan Leziguez reported.
00:12The West Philippine Sea is not just our imagination.
00:18It is ours.
00:20It will remain ours as long as the spirit of our beloved country, the Philippines, remains alive.
00:29Reckless and unprofessional.
00:31This is what the National Maritime Council or NMC said after the latest incident of China's harassment in the West Philippine Sea the other day.
00:43In the latest incident, China's military helicopter landed the Cessna Caravan Plane of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
00:52in Scarborough Shoal for 40 minutes.
00:57It was also dangerous for several times.
00:59It reached up to 3 meters above the B4 plane.
01:05According to the Philippine Coast Guard,
01:07this is the most dangerous harassment of China in the West Philippine Sea that happened in the air.
01:13According to NMC Undersecretary Alexander Lopez,
01:17China's recent harassment clearly shows that they are infiltrating the territory.
01:25China is just showing their carelessness in flight safety,
01:30especially when the B4 planes landed on the shore.
01:34On the other hand, NMC said that the Philippine Navy will not send warships to the WPS yet.
01:41But the country will send additional forces to patrol the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines
01:48as a sign of protection of its territorial and maritime domain.
01:54The Philippine government stands firm in upholding our territorial integrity,
01:59safeguarding our citizens, and enforcing a rules-based international order in the West Philippine Sea.
02:08Our commitment to peace and diplomacy remains steadfast,
02:13but we will never waver in asserting our rightful position and defending which is lawfully ours.
02:23NMC also called on the Filipino fishermen who claim to be fishing in the West Philippine Sea.
02:29We are calling on our fishermen to go out and fish.
02:33Exercise your sovereign rights.
02:36That is ours. The fishermen there are ours.
02:39So we need to urge, motivate our fishermen to go out there and fish.
02:46The government is now preparing a new diplomatic protest against China.
02:52NMC urged China to abide by international law
02:56and to avoid warships that pose a threat to the situation in the West Philippine Sea.
