00:00Congressmen who went through the right process, studied well, and did not easily file an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte,

00:10have now formally visited the Vice President in the Supreme Court to stop this.

00:15This is the national news of Mela Las Moras of PTV Manila.

00:19The desperate move of several leaders of the Camera was called by Vice President Sara Duterte's request to the Supreme Court to stop the impeachment against her.

00:31That is under her petition for certiorari and prohibition with urgent application for temporary restraining order.

00:40According to House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Don Gonzalez Jr., it is clear from the Constitution that only the Congress has the power to hold an impeachment.

00:49It seems that the Vice President is afraid to go ahead so he desperately went ahead to avoid the issue.

00:55However, House Deputy Speaker David J. J. Suarez is adamant that they will not stop the impeachment.

01:01For the other members of the House of Representatives,

01:03It's her right that she wants to stop it but it's a constitutional mandate that the impeachment should also be answered and the Senate should convene.

01:13The House Prosecution Panel was the first to object to going through the right process, studied well, and did not easily file an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

01:24That is also in accordance with the first petition of a group that is questioning and pushing for the impeachment to be stopped.

01:31These seven articles of impeachment that we filed in the impeachment complaint, I wish to submit that it was studied well, thoughtfully, and the evidence that can be used is balanced in accordance with this impeachment process.

01:54For now, the Supreme Court has also documented the Senate on the separate petition that is pushing for the impeachment trial against the Vice President.

02:04In a letter, Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel formally condemned Senator Francis Escudero.

02:11He is also supported by Senator Arisa Ontiveros.
