00:09After 500 days of war, Gazans have been left reeling.

00:15500 days of war means 500 days of humiliation, suffering, destruction,

00:21bloodshed, martyrs and wounded. You see destruction everywhere.

00:30Gaza is uninhabitable. It is totally destroyed.

00:34Gaza is uninhabitable for humans, even for animals.

00:39Amid these landscapes of destruction,

00:41Palestinians in the enclave are in dire humanitarian need.

00:45With basic supplies, including food and water, thin on the ground,

00:49residents are completely drained.

00:52I want the war to end and the truce to hold and move to its second and third phases.

00:57Enough, we are very exhausted. The war has completely drained us

01:00and we have no property left.

01:02After coming into effect in January, the fragile ceasefire between Israel

01:06and Hamas is meant to enter its second phase in early March.

01:11This stage, which has yet to be negotiated, should see the release

01:14of the remaining living hostages held by Hamas and a permanent ceasefire.

01:19The third and final stage of the deal should see the launch of a plan to rebuild Gaza.

01:24It's a colossal task, which the UN estimates will take at least $53 billion.

01:31Meanwhile, Donald Trump's proposal for the US to take control of Gaza

01:34and move its population to Egypt and Jordan has sparked anger in the enclave and further afield.

01:41US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Saudi Arabia on Monday

01:45in a bid to push the controversial plan.
