Gaza ceasefire deal: 'Colossal' celebrations in West Bank

00:00It's colossal for people in the West Bank. If you go back to when the last

00:05release, after the last ceasefire, when the last releases took place, the

00:09celebrations in Ramallah and across the West Bank were colossal. So one could

00:14expect that once the names are released and once the releases

00:18actually start happening, the celebrations are going to be pretty big

00:22here as well this time around. The Israelis have set things up slightly

00:27differently this time. This time it's the Israeli Prison Service who will bring

00:35the Palestinian prisoners as far as the West Bank and up until that point no

00:42celebrations are being allowed at all. Once they cross to areas like Ramallah,

00:47celebrations can and will take place. For many people here it's going to be an

00:53enormous relief, just as on the Israeli side. There are people here, families

01:00here, who haven't seen their loved ones, their relatives for weeks, for months in

01:05some cases and even longer. Now we understand that security has been

01:10reinforced at certain points in the West Bank. What can you tell us about that?

01:17Well yeah, security is up obviously because there is concern that

01:22there could be incidents, but most of it is going to be concentrated on the areas

01:26where the release of Palestinian prisoners or the transfer

01:31rather of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli to the Palestinian side take

01:36place. So at checkpoints for instance one can expect to see heightened security.

01:41The Israeli Prison Service will be accompanied by the Israeli

01:47Defence Forces on the way to the checkpoints. After that there is no sign

01:52at this stage that there's going to be heightened IDF security on the path from

01:57the checkpoint to places like Ramallah where I am now.
