Lebanon calls for Israel's full withdrawal from territory

00:00Here in southern Lebanon, near the border, the Israeli army have withdrawn from the town of Yarroun.

00:05And it's a picture of devastation.

00:08But Lebanese citizens are nevertheless relieved, at long last, to return home.

00:15It's an indescribable feeling. No words can express it.

00:19And it's all thanks to the blood of the martyrs,

00:21who are still on the ground and haven't yet been buried.

00:25But Israel announced on Monday that its withdrawal would not be as complete as agreed.

00:32And that this was the fault of Hezbollah.

00:34We are temporarily remaining in five strategic high points necessary for our security.

00:40The US-France brokered deal in late November required Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon

00:46and the removal of Hezbollah fighters and weaponry from there too.

00:49Israel claims that Hezbollah have not honoured their side of the bargain.

00:53Lebanon's territorial integrity is important to the newly anointed government in Beirut,

00:58who have said they will not accept a single Israeli remaining on their territory.

01:05We are referring this to the UN Security Council, which approved Resolution 1701

01:09and urge it to take the necessary measures to address the Israeli violations and compel

01:13Israel to immediately withdraw to the international borders in compliance with the UN resolution.

01:19Meanwhile, Hezbollah have repeated that the responsibility for Israeli withdrawal

01:27lies with Beirut.

01:29Over 100,000 people remain internally displaced in Lebanon

01:32and Israeli strikes in the south have persisted long after the ceasefire was signed.
