Today RJ & Bobby dive into the Texas Rangers' potential for the 2025 season. They discussed the key players who need to step up and the critical events that must unfold by the All-Star break for the Rangers to finish the first half of the season in first place.

00:23second best team in the American League assuming health who's strong. You are Jim Bowden. That

00:28is what you are. The Yankees are pretty clearly the best team in the American League like

00:31they're just the most talented. The A.L. stinks. If you can't make the playoffs of the American

00:36League this year like every team every team you can't make the playoffs the American League

00:41this year. You need to read it a question where you are as an organization. Jim Bowden

00:49his MLB power rankings. Where do you think the Texas Rangers sit as we open spring training

01:17they're behind Atlanta Mets Phillies Yankees I'll say they're I'll say he has Seattle ahead

01:27of them and Cleveland so ninth not even close fourth fourth in Major League Baseball ahead

01:36of them is only the Phillies Yankees and Dodgers. This is right up he says the Rangers were

01:4178 and 84 last season finishing third in the A.L. West ten and a half games behind the

01:44Astros. So why do I have them fourth in my initial power ranking several reasons. First

01:48they have a significant number of impact players who were injured last year and are now healthy

01:53such as Ace Jacob to Graham outfielder Evan Carter and third baseman Josh Young. Second

01:58they have a plethora of young talent ready to break out including Wyatt Langford Carter

02:01and right hander Kumar Rocker. Boy how sad is it. They don't even mention lighter anymore.

02:06Third they acquired two more power bats this offseason trading for first baseman Jake Berger

02:10and signing designated hitter Jack Peterson which lengthens their lineup and gives them

02:14eight out of nine batters who have hit 20 plus home runs in a season. Fourth they have

02:18a deep starting rotation. Combine those factors with the core of their lineup led by Corey

02:22Seager Marcus Simeon and Adolis Garcia and it's easy to see the Rangers being formidable

02:26again when future Hall of Fame manager Bruce Bochy led the Giants to three World Series

02:30titles. You know what he's going to point out. He did it every year 2010 2012 2014 rather

02:35than consecutively.
