Rangers' starting rotation shines, while the offense struggles to show up

The Rangers secured back-to-back 1-0 victories for the first time in franchise history, with Jack Leiter delivering an impressive performance. Leiter pitched five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out six batters, showing complete control. However, the Rangers' offense remained a significant concern. Marcus Semien continued to struggle at the plate and Evan Carter’s issues in the minors only added to the uncertainty. Around the league, the AL Central is a complete mess, with every team sitting at 2-4, making it one of the most unpredictable divisions early in the season.

01:08It was just like, I felt like an unnecessary move.

01:11Not necessarily the wrong move, you know, you're trying to treat him with kid gloves.

01:17And then the other thing is, you know, you want him to end on a good note.

01:21But it just felt like it was an unnecessary move, but then all of a sudden you see, oh, he's got a blister forming.

01:26And those things, CJ Wilson will tell you all about blisters.

01:29Those things, you know, he'll be soaking his hand in pickle juice or doing the old Jorge Posada Moises Alou on him later today.

01:46You know, they kind of mentioned it, Mike mentioned this on the broadcast, the TV broadcast,

01:50the slider that Leiter had working yesterday.

01:54I mean, that was the big thing when he was coming.

01:55It was like, all he had was the fastball.

01:57That was the thing was just he blew it by people.

01:59And that was something that early on, apparently, you know, that was getting him in trouble in the minors.

02:04Was just, he was trying to blow the fastball by people that it didn't work like that anymore.
