00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol Region expanded their Tara-Basa Tutoring Program

00:07so that the children in the region can improve their literacy skills.

00:11This year, the DSWD's target is to reach five more regions, including Albayas in Bicol Region.

00:18According to the DSWD, more than 62,400 Grade 2 students were helped by the program.

00:25And because college students from state universities and colleges are receiving grants to become tutors and volunteers,

00:33they are also helping with their expenses in their studies.
