00:08Syrian regime forces have seized the eastern Aleppo neighborhood of Sheikh Saeed from rebel

00:13fighters and overnight fighting. As a result, the opposition has now lost 90% of the area

00:18they once held in the city. Russian and government warplanes have been mounting heavy airstrikes

00:24on remaining rebel-held areas of eastern Aleppo as residents reported bombs falling at a rate

00:29of one every minute.

00:31Donald Trump says the U.S. does not necessarily have to stick to its long-standing position

00:36that Taiwan is part of one China. The president-elect's comments question nearly four decades of policy

00:43in a move likely to antagonize Beijing.

00:46Trump's comments on Fox News came after he prompted a diplomatic protest from China over

00:51his decision to accept a telephone call from Taiwan's president on December 2nd.

00:57Canadian authorities closed schools and colleges today and prepared to move people out of low-lying

01:02areas as Cyclone Varda bore down on its southeast coast. The cyclone is expected to hit the

01:08southern city of Chennai and neighboring areas of Tamil Nadu state. Rain began battering

01:14the densely populated coast ahead of the storm's landfall.

01:18It's finally official. A week after Gulf News tabloid reported about Justin Bieber's potential

01:23concert in Dubai, it is now confirmed the pop star will bring his Purpose World Tour

01:27on May 6th. Organizers said the show at Autism Rocks Arena will be Bieber's only regional

01:33performance.

01:35And finally, weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 24 degrees Celsius, dropping

01:40to 17 degrees at night.
