00:17entering the United States amid growing outrage from around the world.

00:21The White House called on Republicans to say they would not support Trump, currently the

00:26party's frontrunner for the November 2016 election.

00:30US Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Trump's comments could undermine US security.

00:38The Prime Ministers of France and the UK, Canada's Foreign Minister, the United Nations

00:43and Muslims around the world all denounced the real estate mogul's comments.

00:48But Trump said his ideas were no worse than those of then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt,

01:25expressed hope for successful talks.

01:29Iraq's UN ambassador last night appeared to play down a dispute between Baghdad and Ankara

01:35over the deployment of Turkish troops in northern Iraq, saying bilateral talks between the neighboring

01:41states to end the row were proceeding favorably.
