00:52Cebu is poised to be the next economic powerhouse.
00:57Second only to Manila.
00:59However, for this potential to be fully harnessed, we need the right infrastructure.
01:07The current Cebu Base Port can only accommodate so much.
01:12The increasing demand for efficient cargo handling and logistic solutions had made this project not just necessary but imperative.
01:23With the help of the new Cebu International Container Port, it will be able to distribute the international container volume from Cebu Port.
01:34It will also facilitate the delivery of products and services.
01:39This event marks the start of a monumental undertaking that will transform not only the cargo gateway of the Central Visayas region,
01:50but also the trajectory of Cebu's economic landscape.
01:56The NCICP is more than just a port.
02:00It is a symbol of progress, collaboration, and our collective commitment to enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our nation's infrastructure.
02:13The project, which is expected to be operational in 2028, is estimated to be worth Php 16 billion.
02:22The NCICP will also be able to provide additional income to the LGU, the consulate and the residents.
