February at the New Theatre

The new theatre is one of the most iconic venues across Cardiff and the rest of Wales. It welcomes thousands of visitors every year, and always provides a fresh slate of different acts visiting the city. This month, we’ve got a little bit of everything, from comedy to musicals, to true crime, whatever you’re up for, they’ve got it.

00:00The New Theatre is an iconic venue in Cardiff and it hosts too many shows and performances

00:07to be able to speak about all of them, but this month there are some huge shows coming

00:11to the theatre.

00:13For the rest of February there are a massive 14 different shows coming to the New Theatre

00:17in Cardiff, so we'll take a look at some of the highlights.

00:22To start off, we'll take a look at the comedy shows visiting Cardiff, with some household

00:26names on the schedule.

00:29First off, there's Catherine Ryan on the 9th of February with her battle-axed UK and

00:33European tour.

00:34The Canadian is never off our tellies, with shows on Sky, Comedy Central, Netflix, ITV

00:39and plenty more.

00:40And then after Catherine Ryan, there are more massive names coming to the theatre, as Paddy

00:45McGuinness returns to stand-up on the 15th, with Jack D, another veteran of the comedy

00:49circuit, visiting town on the 23rd with his Small World tour.

00:53Of course there are plenty of musical acts on the billing too, with some cover shows

00:57like Night of Punk Rock on the 12th, with songs from The Clash, Sex Pistols, Blondie

01:02and more.

01:03Other cover acts like Ariana Grande singing songs from her catalogue, as well as her new

01:07Wicked movie on the 20th.

01:09And Night of Modern Pop with Friendships and Flower Bracelets is coming to Cardiff on the

01:1324th, with songs by Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and plenty more.

01:17One of the highlights of the month will definitely be the one and only Jason Donovan performing

01:23all of his hits, as well as some musical favourites on Valentine's Night.

01:26And you don't get much more romantic than that.

01:31Some of the other shows visiting the city this month will be Makings of a Murderer 2,

01:34with Chief Investigator Colin Sutton on the 10th for all the true crime fans, Cardiff

01:38Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing some songs from the movies on the 13th, with scores

01:42from Star Wars, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Pink Panther and more.

01:46We'll even be visited by the Gruffalo himself from the 25th to the 28th for all the little

01:50ones.

01:51Safe to say there's something for everyone going on at this iconic venue this February.
