00:06We hear about kids that are younger and younger

00:08carrying knives.

00:10I think one of the things that worries me

00:12is that they're doing it to protect themselves,

00:14not necessarily to hurt somebody else, but they're doing it because

00:16they feel they need to protect themselves.

00:18That, to me, shows that there is a problem.

00:20Do you think Sheffield

00:22has a knife problem?

00:24Not as far as I'm aware.

00:26I don't hear a lot of stabbings at Sheffield.

00:28I think Sheffield is a relatively safe city.

00:30I've lived in this area all my life

00:32and I wouldn't know

00:34the number of stabbings that happened last year

00:36but I do think

00:38it's relatively safe, Sheffield,

00:40as opposed to similar cities the same size.

00:44Do you think Sheffield's got a problem with knives?

00:46At the moment, they have, yes.

00:48Why do you say that?

00:50Because it's just anybody

00:52can be perfectly innocent

00:54say something wrong to somebody

00:56but the producer knifed and stabbed me.

00:58It's awful.

01:08The thing is, you don't know who's carrying them.

01:14knock your walk past you and you might say

01:16you don't retaliate

01:18in any way or form

01:20because you could think you're dead.

01:24Saying that,

01:26it's not only every day

01:28there's a stabbing somewhere or other

01:30whether it be Sheffield or where.

01:32They've got to do something about it.

01:36It's like an epidemic now

01:38with knife crime.

01:42Do you think Sheffield has a knife problem?

01:44Yes.

01:46Are you worried about it?

01:48Yes.

01:50They said I'm having two boys

01:52and I'm really worried.

01:54When I heard what happened yesterday

01:56I said, oh my God, what will happen to my kids

01:58when they go to high school?
