00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name is Theo Cusen Betts and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester
00:03asking people about kitchen knives and their relation to crime.
00:07Now actor Idris Elba last year launched a company that sell kitchen knives with a rounded end
00:12which should cut down on stabbings. We want to know if people are in favour of this as a concept.
00:17I don't think you have to look at knife companies to stop knife crimes to be honest.
00:21It's not going to solve it completely but I don't see why you wouldn't look into introducing that.
00:27I mean, ultimately if you're looking to try and reduce the ability of people to get hold of things that can easily harm or kill people,
00:36that is one of the things. I mean personally I should imagine situations where I might need a sharp point, but not many.
00:44People are convinced maybe through music and through stuff online that lifestyle is cool and that it's like,
00:52I don't think like that's a quick fix that maybe could stop something happening today
00:56but I feel like if you want to make a big impact you need to stop got the roof.
