00:00The National Bureau of Investigation, or NBI, confirmed that the five Chinese nationals arrested for espionage

00:07are graduates of the Philippines' or Philippine People's Liberation Army University.

00:13According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, after they conducted covert and surveillance operations

00:19together with other government agencies,

00:22the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines

00:26came out to investigate and placed the last Chinese nationals

00:30with high-resolution solid-power CCTV cameras

00:34aimed at where the Philippine ships are passing through,

00:37to and from the West Philippine Sea.

00:40High-precision gadgets that can only be bought in China were also confiscated.

00:46Aside from this, it was found out that the last Chinese who espionaged for a long time in the Philippines

00:52were some of them married to Filipinos.

00:56According to Director Santiago, they were under the Republic Act 10175,

01:01or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,

01:04which is non-bailable and has the right to life imprisonment.

01:09Currently, the last individuals are in the custody of the NBI

01:12while Director Santiago is confirming that they will further investigate the AFP

01:18to find out if there are other espionages in the country.

01:24They are denying, saying that they are tourists,

01:28and the others who justified their existence here in the Philippines,

01:32were married to Filipinos.

01:34They have been here for a long time.
