00:00Hi there. It's a cloudy and in some places wet start to Friday, but drier and brighter

00:05weather is on its way, albeit slowly from the west. At the moment, the jet stream is

00:10pushing to the north of the UK. That's where it's directing areas of low pressure, but

00:14a lot of these lows will dangle weather fronts into the UK from the northwest. So, as will

00:20often be the case over the next few days, the wettest weather will be in the northwest,

00:23drier towards the southeast. However, as we start off Friday, there is some heavy rain

00:27across the southeast. That's going to move away, leaving behind a lot of low cloud into

00:32eastern England, some drizzling places. Brighter weather, though, will emerge, especially across

00:39Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland, Wales and the southwest. And with lighter winds,

00:43it's going to be a pleasant afternoon. Once again, 8 to 10 Celsius. But central Scotland,

00:49the Highlands and the Grampians keep a lot of cloud and some drizzle. Likewise, through

00:53East Anglia and the southeast. And it stays that way through Friday night. So, we keep

00:58that legacy of low cloud, some patchy drizzle. And the low cloud will perhaps form mist and

01:04fog in places as well. We do have a gap of clearer spells. And in that gap, we'll see

01:09frost and fog forming overnight, especially through parts of Wales and the southwest,

01:14northeast Scotland likewise. But for western Scotland and Northern Ireland, the breeze

01:19picks up and further outbreaks of rain arrive by the end of the night. So, it's this central

01:24slice where we're likely to see the lowest temperatures as we begin the weekend. A few

01:29dense fog patches, gloomy once again and on the cold side for the east of England, milder

01:36towards the far northwest as the next Atlantic system starts to move through. And a strengthening

01:41southwestly breeze will bring that milder air. So, actually, it's western Scotland and

01:47Northern Ireland where technically temperatures will be the highest on Saturday afternoon.

01:50But it's not going to feel very pleasant with that strengthening breeze and outbreaks of

01:54rain on and off. The heavier stuff tends to stay well to the west through Saturday. So,

02:00for many places, actually, it's relatively dry. The best of any sunshine tending to remain

02:06through parts of Northern England into the Midlands, the southwest as well as Wales.

02:10The low cloud in the southeast tending to lift and break in places, but still one or

02:14two spots of drizzle possible even into the afternoon. Six or seven Celsius here, nine

02:19or ten towards the west and northwest. And we're going to see the similar kind of weather

02:25pattern continue into Sunday and the start of next week. That is, weather systems moving

02:31into the northwest, tending to slowly fizzle out as they cross the country and slow down.

02:37And so, it's always the northwest where we'll see the wettest weather, whereas towards the

02:41southeast, a lot of cloud, yes, but nothing particularly wet. Bye-bye.
