00:00I started up in Mortlake and up there doing the postie one week in the main street and

00:07manual telephone exchange the second week at night. I've done that for two and a half years.

00:12In 77, come down to Warrnambool in about July and as a full-time postie, swapped with a fella

00:20who wanted to go back to Geelong, where I had a job but he swapped, and come down here and

00:26just mail everywhere. I couldn't believe how much mail Warrnambool was getting,

00:31compared to Mortlake probably, but there was already 10 posties there.

00:40How things have changed over the years, so just all your mail has gone to the phone once the

00:46phone's come in, took over, and just sorting racks, better bikes and everything like that.

00:56The bikes help you get away from the dogs a bit. A couple of bikes over the years, way back,

01:02but it's pretty good now that most dogs are locked up and all that. Everything's been updated

01:10through phones and online buying's taken over. The letters are dwindling a fair bit each year,

01:18but the online's keeping everything going now, keeping everyone...
