Bristolians can now play a role in preserving the iconic SS Great Britain by ‘adopting’ a treasured item from its collection. Artefacts up for virtual adoption include Brunel’s last cigar, a commemorative cricket ball awarded to E M Grace in 1864.

ever issued. The Adopter Artifact Scheme will help to raise critical funds for the SS Great

Britain Trust, which will be used to conserve the legendary Bristolian ship and museum and

to help support its community outreach work. The adoption packages will last 12 months.
