We learn about Trafalgar Square and its history.

00:00Let's take another look around London, and today we're heading to Trafalgar Square,
00:06named after the Battle of Trafalgar, where Admiral Nelson, triumphant in 1805, is home
00:11to the famous Nelson's Column, which is guarded by four bronze lions, cast from melted-down
00:16cannons from the battle.
00:19The square is surrounded by the National Gallery, St Martin-in-the-Fields Church and the National
00:24Portrait Gallery.
00:25It's also known for the Fourth Plymouth, where a rotating collection of art installations
00:30sparks conversation and sometimes controversy.
00:34There's also a small unused police station in the south-east corner of the square, and
00:38although not in service anymore, it's one of those hidden gems that's easy to overlook.
00:43The nearest tube stations are Charing Cross on the Northern and Bakerloo lines, and Leicester Square.
