Quantum computing ‘part of climate solutions’

Data centers already account for 1% of global energy consumption, a figure that will only grow due to the rapid development of AI, something that worries environmentalists. But quantum computing will be ‘part of the solution’, says Georges-Olivier Raymond, CEO of quantum computing firm Pasqal. 00:30because they are also very low energy intensive.

00:33It takes only a couple of kilowatts to operate our quantum computers

00:38compared to megawatts with classical maths.

00:41So, they are order of magnitude lower than classical solutions.
