00:00Wilfred Yap of Sarawak United People's Party has urged Sarawak DAP to focus on securing

00:07more federal funding for schools in its constituencies instead of engaging in petty rhetoric.

00:14His comments follow questions over the use of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak logo at the

00:21Yap, the Kota Sentosa Assemblyman, said in a Facebook post that it was more important

00:27that schools in his constituency receive financial assistance from GPS, the state's

00:32ruling coalition.

00:35The post by Kota Sentosa SUPP and shared by Yap added that he was not interested in DAP's

00:41rhetoric.

00:42Yap was responding to Michael Kong, the Special Assistant to Sarawak DAP Chairman Chong Chien-jen,

00:48who had criticized him for bringing mock checks bearing the GPS logo.

00:54Kong also accused SUPP of disregarding the Education Ministry's ban on the use of party

00:59logos at school events.

01:01However, Yap said DAP MPs from Sarawak should focus on securing more federal funding for

01:07schools in their constituencies as education is under the federal list and not be so petty.
