00:18Smyth's mother, Kristina Karolina Hrada Johanna Verstappen, filed a lawsuit on the family's behalf

00:23in 2020, naming the government, the police, and investigating officer Faizal Abdullah as defendants.

00:31Smyth, who was 18, was found dead on the sixth floor of Cab Square residence on December 7, 2017,

00:37after falling from a unit on the 20th floor. An inquest in 2018 determined that her death was a

00:44misadventure. Upon revision by the High Court, the court ruled that Smyth's death was caused by
