00:00The Department of Migrant Workers apologizes for repatriating the wrong remains to the
00:05family of overseas Filipino worker Jenny Alvarado.
00:10Alvarado died in Kuwait reportedly due to suffocation.
00:13DMW Secretary Hans Kakdak says he takes full responsibility for the mistake, saying he
00:18gave a directive to hasten Alvarado's repatriation and the shipping service provider must have
00:23made a mistake because the body that was shipped was not Jenny's but it was under her name.
00:28No information about the repatriated body was given but media reports say the remains
00:32were that of a foreigner.
00:34Kakdak adds DMW's Labor Attaché and lawyers on the ground are investigating how the mistake
00:39occurred and if anyone should be liable.
00:42Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration Chief Arnel Ignacio says Alvarado reportedly died
00:47of cold suffocation.
00:49The DMW says it is studying calls for a new deployment ban to Kuwait despite just recently
00:54tightening its deployment restrictions there.
