00:25who is obviously out due to an ankle injury Auburn now again

00:30possessing the depth needed to replace him with other players

00:34that are capable of filling a spot you're never going to

00:37replace Jani Broome with one man but the players who will see

00:40their usage increase Janie Johnson Dylan Carwell they need

00:44to be right now big time producers for Auburn to beat a

00:47team like Mississippi State who again gave up 95 points at home

00:52to Kentucky on Saturday night which is unfathomable for a

00:56Chris Jan's coach team.

00:58John, you shared that when Auburn returned home this

01:01weekend, they had an MRI done on Jani Broome's ankle that he

01:05suffered a sprain in the matchup against South Carolina non

01:09surgical ankle sprain is what you mentioned. What is the

01:14status of Jani Broome for the remainder of the SEC slate?

01:18Well, again, we don't have an obviously a set timetable yet

01:21for Jani Broome's return but a comparable injury I think you

01:25know, Ben at this juncture could be probably similar what UConn

01:29is dealing with for Liam McNeely. So usually that's a

01:31couple of weeks. So if you told me that Jani Broome returned at

01:35sometime in late January, early February, I think that's a safe

01:38estimate. Now things are going to change over the next two or

01:42three weeks in a lot of different factors in college

01:45basketball without Jani Broome playing for the next few weeks

01:49that could open the door for other players, Marquette's Cam

01:52Jones, Duke's Cooper Flagg, who had 42 seven assists and six

01:56rebounds Saturday against Notre Dame to potentially leap ahead

02:00of him in the national player of the year race. Now another thing

02:03to keep in mind, Auburn right now is firmly entrenched as a

02:08projected number one seed in the NCAA tournament and the NCAA

02:12tournament selection committee will take into account any games

02:16that the Tigers do drop without Jani Broome, but there is a

02:20chance in the rugged SEC that Auburn could take some losses

02:23and Ben, eight weeks from Sunday will be selection Sunday and I

02:28think it's always important in the sport of college basketball

02:31to look at things from 30,000 feet. Remember this, every time

02:36Auburn plays, Auburn is playing to be the number one seed in the

02:40south region. Why is that so important? That means first and

02:43second round games in Lexington and more importantly, it would

02:47mean sweet 16 and elite eight games in Atlanta, which has been

02:52a second home to Auburn in recruiting in neutral site games.

02:56That is what the Tigers are playing for. It's harder to get

02:59there without the national player of the year favorite Jani

03:02Broome in the lineup of Ben, you know as well as I do. This is
