00:24India has tackled this global crisis with the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,

00:29the world as one family. Over the past decade, India has led global transformative efforts,

00:35from advancing renewable energy to founding the International Solar Alliance, ISA, and launching Mission Life.

00:42In continuation of this vision, on September 11, 2024, the Central Cabinet has approved Mission Mawsam,

00:48a Rs 2,000 crore initiative to make India weather-ready and climate-smart.

00:53Mission Mawsam uses cutting-edge tech, observing systems such as Doppler radars,

00:58vertical profilers, fusion of physics-based numerical models and data-driven AI models,

01:04and supercomputers to revolutionize forecasting at various locations and time periods.

01:10From nowcast, that is, short-term real-time predictions to seasonal predictions.

01:17This mission transforms lives, empowering farmers, enhancing disaster preparedness,

01:22and enabling smarter water management, power sectors, livestock protection, and infrastructure planning.

01:29Special focus is on vulnerable regions, like the Himalayan region, with tailored systems to tackle

01:35cloud bursts, floods, and landslides, safeguarding lives and infrastructure.

01:40With a deep-rooted wisdom that has weathered centuries, India now steps forward with global partnerships,

01:46cutting-edge innovations, and modern science technologies.

01:50Through initiatives like Mission Mawsam, India is not only leading the way

01:54in weather and climate sciences, but also shaping a resilient, sustainable future.
