Coffee catch-up: A courageous teen and Manchester United

00:04We start as per usual with the delightful Patrick Hollis, a man who's got the new year off to a

00:08great start, writing a piece on Rochdale teenager Ayub Al Asad, a young man who's been battling

00:12with his health since being diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis, which affects his spinal cord.

00:17His aim for 2025 is to finish his GCSEs and he looks to be well on his way now. It's a tough

00:21story to read, never mind experience, so please give it a go and I'm sure you'll gain as much

00:25respect for Ayub as I have. Patrick has also known a piece on Graham Hamlet, who's worked

00:29at Newton Heath train car centre since 1980 and is now set to retire after 45 years there.

00:34It's another great piece. Onto sports and Rich Faye has been hard at work trying to make sense

00:39of the thrilling game between Liverpool and Manchester United at the weekend. A pick of his

00:43many pieces on the game is his assessment of Bruno Fernandes' commitment to his new manager

00:47and his role going forward at Manchester United. The match had many bright spots for Ruben Amorim's

00:51team and none more so than their 30-year-old captain and talisman. That's all for now,
