We ask the people of Glasgow for their thoughts on New Year resolutions

We take to Buchanan St to ask Glaswegians whether they made NY resolutions for 2025 and how they feel about them.

00:00Have you set any resolutions or anything that you want to do for 2025?

00:04No.

00:05When I was younger I used to make resolutions, but of course they were all broken.

00:10I don't make them anymore, to be honest, no.

00:13I think New Year's resolutions are just that classic thing, it's kind of the same every year.

00:17You say you're going to go out and run and exercise and eat healthy and you give yourself too much expectations.

00:23I just think you shouldn't make a strict rule, it should be more of like a

00:28be more mindful of what you're doing in the New Year, that's what I'm trying to do at least.

00:31I think I've exercised more, but in fact I've always exercised so it really was not correct for me to do that.

00:38My wife died 16 years ago, so I've spent 16 Christmases and New Years alone since then.

00:47Do you think you're happier now that you just leave it?

00:50Oh I'm much happier, seriously much happier.

00:54I think the main thing is to trust yourself, whatever, and be happy.
